The Northeast Missouri Health Council, Inc., (a not-for-profit corporation) in one of over 1200 Federally
Qualified Health Centers that provide healthcare to anyone, including more than
17 million low-income or medically indigent patients through a network of some
2500 clinics in the United States.
The Health Council was established in 1968 to develop and maintain a network of regional, primary and preventive health care clinics and providers, and to improve clinic accessibility and utilization.
An independent board of directors oversees the Council's program. Members of the board reside in counties served by the Council and are a valuable resource in identifying community concerns and needs.
From pediatrics to geriatrics, the Northeast Missouri Health Council offers a wide variety of medical and dental services and programs, to area residents. The patient base includes: medically indigent, Medicaid, Medicare, private pay and insured individuals.
In addition to income generated by patient office visits, the Health Council receives funding from the Department of Health and Human Services and the Missouri Department of Health, to help those in need pay for their office visits.
Qualification for payment assistance is determined by verifiable income level and family size. The payment assistance plan is designed to help make healthcare services more affordable for the medically underserved population in northeast Missouri.
